The penetration of the laser into the tissue causes a healing biological effect by increasing the level of ATP in the cell, which leads to accelerated recovery in inflammatory processes. In addition, microcirculation is activated, resulting in an increased supply of nutrients to the cell and its cleansing of waste products. Laser therapy leads to an increase in the pain threshold.

The laser emits at several wavelengths simultaneously – 980 nm and 808 nm. The 980 nm wavelength is absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin and this results in the release of an oxygen molecule. The cell is thus saturated with oxygen and this stimulates cell metabolism. The 808 nm wavelength is absorbed by Cytochrome-C and thus stimulates further ATP synthesis.
